Now is the perfect time to plant Junipers
We are in the prime autumn planting window (typically running through mid to late November or even December) to plant these tough evergreen shrubs.
The cooler weather actually reduces transplant shock. Even though Junipers are drought-tolerant once established, newly installed shrubs need regular watering during dry winters to help the root systems settle.
Junipers require full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight) and well-drained soil; avoid planting them in low spots where water pools, which can cause root rot.
Nana and Wiltonli are Dwaft Japanese Garden Junipers that grows to 6 to 12 inches tall and can spread to 4 to 6 feet wide. They are widely used for rock gardens, slopes and bonsai.
